How to Improve Your 2023 Marketing Strategy

New year no longer just means a new you, it often means a new marketing strategy because the world of marketing is constantly changing and evolving. We know it can be difficult to keep up with. There’s new trends and new expectations but how do you know when to stay the course and which strategies to spruce up? We’re going to share some ideas of what you can implement without changing your entire strategy, but still making sure your strategy is relevant.

Personalize Your Messages
You know that bit of excitement you get when you receive a piece of mail or get an email directly addressed to you with your name on it? We feel that excitement because it feels like we are getting extra attention. Your clients want to feel that same way. If you are doing direct mail marketing, make an effort to personalize it to the intended recipient. Do the same with email marketing. Email marketing makes it incredibly easy to allow you to address your emails by first name or by both first and last name. An extra personal touch goes a long way.

Create Educational Content
We are all in a content overload but finding new and unique ways to engage with your current and prospective clients can help keep their attention and your company top of mind. In 2023 educational content is going to take companies further than any other type of content. Whether it’s for personal or professional reasons, people are in a learning era. Providing content that teaches something new not only will help your audience learn more but will result in increased sales and leads.

Grow With Your Current Clients
Keeping your current clients happy is essential for the growth of any company. They are who have been with you, who help support you and they can even give you other leads and opportunities if they have enjoyed their experience with you. Use the beginning of the new year to reach out to them and find out their goals, what else you can do for them and if they have any referrals for you. Business growth often comes from your current clients.

Focus on Reputation Management
Yelp and Google Reviews seem to be taking over. This can be both good and bad for business, depending on how you handle them. In a perfect world you would never receive a bad review, but it happens and sometimes mistakes are made. Your response to that review is what matters. Use it as an opportunity to showcase your human side and make things right with your customers so future customers reading the reviews see that you appropriately handled the situation. When you get a good review, respond! Leaving 5-star reviews and compliments unanswered doesn’t have the best look to it. Thank them for their review and show your appreciation.

Personalizing messages, creating educational content, growing with your current clients and focusing on reputation management can be easily implemented into this year’s marketing strategy. You don’t always need to make big changes, but small improvements can help you see great results.
