Minimalism in Business

I consider myself to be an aspiring minimalist, and I use those principles in my business as well.

While decluttering my life, I realized that there was a lot of clutter in my business as well!

In order to combat this, I created simpler processes. For one, I used to require that potential clients grant me access to their books before I could give them a quote. This was an unnecessary step that usually resulted in the client stalling, sometimes for good. It was too much work to ask from someone who wasn’t committed yet!

Now, I give everyone the same price starting out, and I use the first 3 months to see if their business requires extra work from me. We are able to get off the ground smoothly, but I am still protected from taking on a huge project at too low of a price.

I also keep my social media simple. I gave up Twitter entirely because my potential clients weren’t there. I realized that I am more likely to find clients on LinkedIn, but I still update my Instagram and Facebook from time to time because I know that’s where people want to learn more about ME, not Profit Meadow.

How could you simplify your business and processes? Is there anything unnecessary that you could cut out?
